Oman's southern gateway for regional and global trade

Port of Salalah combines a high-capacity container terminal with general cargo and liquid-bulk facilities. Its Dhofar location supports transshipment links and cargo flows between the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and East Africa.

Container ships, bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, Ro-Ro vessels and tankers use the port. Salalah Port Services Company SAOG manages the port and marine movements.

Approach conditions

Approach: Enter from the northeast between the East Breakwater and Container Terminal.
Pilotage: Required from 200 GRT unless the Harbour Master authorizes otherwise.
Anchorage: Port Control assigns the anchorage. Anchoring in the channel or harbour is prohibited.
Seasonal conditions: Average tidal range is 1-2 m. June-August monsoon waves may reach 4 m.
